In 2013, Calidus acquired four properties from Campus Crest, a former student housing REIT at an attractive cost basis. At the time of acquisition, the properties were underperforming and required capital improvements, a focused management strategy, and a rebranding resulting in "American Student Housing". In January 2024, the portfolio was refinanced and Wolf Creek was sold as part of this restructuring.
